Neuropsychological Assessment for Adolescents and Young People
Neuro Assessment Center provides comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for adolescents and younger individuals with complex cognitive, emotional, behavioral, academic, and diagnostic concerns.
Young people are often referred when the clinical picture resists straightforward explanation. A child or adolescent may be bright but inconsistent, emotionally reactive but insightful, socially capable in some settings but overwhelmed in others, or academically strong while still struggling with organization, attention, emotional regulation, flexibility, or follow-through.
Common referral concerns include ADHD, autism spectrum presentations, executive functioning difficulties, learning differences, anxiety, mood instability, trauma-related symptoms, emotional dysregulation, social difficulties, behavioral concerns, memory issues, concussion, and cases where several possible explanations may coexist.
A careful evaluation can help distinguish whether difficulties are primarily related to attention, learning, emotional regulation, trauma, neurodevelopmental factors, family stress, personality development, medical issues, or a combination of factors. This is especially important when parents, schools, therapists, psychiatrists, or treatment teams hold different impressions of what may be driving the behavior or academic difficulties.
The goal is to develop a clear functional picture — how the individual learns, processes information, regulates emotions, responds to stress, relates socially, and performs across daily environments. That understanding can help families, schools, and providers determine what supports, expectations, interventions, or treatment approaches are most appropriate going forward.
Evaluations include a detailed intake, individualized testing, clinical interpretation, feedback, and a written report with practical recommendations. When clinically appropriate, records and collateral information are reviewed so the evaluation reflects the broader developmental and functional picture rather than a narrow snapshot.
