Dr. Daniel Hai, Neuro Assessment Center

Dr. Daniel Hai, PsyD

Dr. Daniel Hai, Psy.D., is a clinical neuropsychologist and the founder of Neuro Assessment Center in Los Angeles. His work focuses on comprehensive neuropsychological assessment for adolescents and adults with complex or high-impact presentations.

Before establishing Neuro Assessment Center, Dr. Hai spent years conducting neuropsychological assessments within residential treatment settings serving some of the most clinically complex presentations in the field — cases where multiple diagnoses coexisted, prior treatment had not fully helped, and the clinical picture required a level of diagnostic precision that standard outpatient evaluation rarely demands. His assessment work has also included fitness for duty and professional competency evaluations for physicians, surgeons, clergy, and other licensed professionals. That background is not incidental. It is the foundation of how evaluations at Neuro Assessment Center are approached, the level of clarity and clinical integration reflected in the reports, and why the practice is oriented toward cases where the picture is layered, high-impact, or difficult to untangle.

The evaluations at Neuro Assessment Center are designed to go beyond labeling. The goal is to clarify how cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and personality-based factors are interacting, what that pattern means for daily functioning, and how the findings can be used to guide treatment, support, and decision-making in a meaningful way. This is especially important when symptoms overlap across multiple possible explanations, when prior treatment has not fully helped, or when the clinical picture is intense, atypical, or inconsistent.

Assessment at Neuro Assessment Center is grounded in neuropsychological science and brain-behavior relationships, with particular attention to how attention, executive functioning, emotional regulation, personality structure, trauma history, developmental context, and interpersonal patterns interact in real-world functioning. Evaluations are not protocol-driven. The battery and clinical formulation are individualized to the referral question and the specific complexity of the case.

Common referral concerns include ADHD and autism spectrum differentials, executive dysfunction in high-functioning adults, trauma and complex trauma, mood and personality dynamics, learning differences, memory concerns, cognitive changes following concussion or medical events, and cases where several possible explanations appear to be operating at once.

Reports are designed to be treatment-facing and referral-ready — clear enough to guide real-world decisions and specific enough to support treatment planning, admissions, multidisciplinary coordination, family communication, and academic or occupational planning when appropriate.

Dr. Hai collaborates with psychiatrists, therapists, physicians, case managers, attorneys, teachers, coaches, and treatment programs throughout Los Angeles, including Encino, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Malibu, and the Westside. He is based in Encino and provides in-person and on-site services throughout Los Angeles and Southern California. When clinically appropriate, selective therapy and consultation services are also available.
