Brain Injuries & Concussions

Neuro Assessment Center provides neuropsychological assessment for adolescents and adults experiencing cognitive, emotional, behavioral, or functional changes following concussion, mild traumatic brain injury, repetitive head injury, medical events, or other neurological concerns.

Brain injuries and concussions can affect attention, processing speed, memory, emotional regulation, fatigue tolerance, organization, sleep, stress tolerance, and day-to-day functioning. Changes in concentration, irritability, mental stamina, word finding, sensory sensitivity, emotional reactivity, or baseline performance are frequently reported even when structural imaging is unremarkable.

Some individuals recover relatively quickly. In others, cognitive and emotional difficulties persist and become complicated by anxiety, trauma, sleep disruption, chronic stress, pain, mood changes, occupational pressure, or preexisting vulnerabilities. Evaluation can help clarify which difficulties are most likely related to the injury itself and which factors may be contributing to ongoing impairment or delayed recovery.

Neuropsychological assessment is particularly indicated when symptoms persist longer than expected, when functioning has changed significantly following an injury, when there are questions involving return to work or school, or when diagnostic clarification is needed to guide treatment planning and rehabilitation.

Referrals come from neurologists, physicians, psychiatrists, therapists, attorneys, schools, treatment programs, employers, athletes, and individuals seeking a clearer understanding of how the injury may be affecting real-world functioning.

Findings are translated into recommendations that may support treatment planning, academic or occupational accommodations when appropriate, rehabilitation strategies, family understanding, and long-term functional recovery.

Evaluations include clinical interview, individualized testing, interpretation of findings, feedback, and a structured written report designed to provide meaningful diagnostic clarification and treatment-facing recommendations.

At Neuro Assessment Center, evaluations are designed to clarify how these patterns may be affecting real-world functioning.
